The only additional testing required for raw milk is a test to make sure the milk is indeed raw, and no one is offering to do that test. Additional testing only drives up the cost, and is not needed for people who buy directly from the farm. I don't drive 40 miles just to buy a pint for my coffee. I buy raw milk for my health and the health of my wife and two children. Together we drink 12 gallons a week. Any increase in cost would be devastating.
I don't believe there are any proven cases of raw milk ever making anyone sick. Even when raw milk was at it's worst, it was nowhere near as bad as pasteurised milk is to day. Pasteurised milk is a toxic energy supplement with no nutritional value. Raw milk is a super food.
Right now our farmers are being bullied and no one is asking the right questions.
We wouldn't need health insurance if we were allowed to eat healthy food. What could a doctor charge for a broken leg if most of his colleges were out of work?
